Cry Of The Icemark Icemark Chronicles Stuart Hill Books

I truly loved this book. The reading was very easy as it is a Young Adult novel. I loved how the story progressed. It didn't get to deep into "history" of the allies and their feuds before being made allies. I would have liked to know more about the Holly King and his folks. They never speak and I don't recall Thirrin ever actually seeing the king himself. The book contains humor as well. I'll never forget the ear warmers with tassles on top for Oskan's mule. Hiliarious! I cried when loved ones died and the battles made me try to read faster just so I could see how they turned out. I did feel the ending felt a bit rushed, but that being the only downfall I had with the book couldn't give it a lesser rating. I can't wait to read the 2nd book in the series, I hope it's as good. If you are looking for a good story, fast paced, won't put you to sleep with history or painting the background too much, this is a the book for you.

Cry Of The Icemark Icemark Chronicles Stuart Hill Books Reviews

I LOVE this book. I read my old copy so much it fell apart several times. After the last attempt to salvage it failed, I finally bought another one. The cover is different from the one pictured, but it actually works out well for me since it is the cover I wanted.
Cry Of The Icemark I'm Irish/Scots descent and I read this book and then the series.Being Irish I found the concept of magicans (teenagers) then as husband and wife and ruler completely fascinating and tender. Then to add to the far out ideas you have snow lepards, Tree kings , werewolves and on and on. Stuart Hill like a true CELT has woven these facts and many more into a story which I could not put down. I have just purchased the triloghy for my daughter who has just had a son.I know she will love this trilogy and will in time read them to her son Liam just as we did to her with similiar stories.I wish Stuart would produce another book following the career of the son, the heir.
Great read!
I picked this book up while waiting for another book to become available in my library, but ended up falling in love with the characters and stirring death scenes. I ended up buying the book and my copy has several creases in the spine. It's a few years later and I'm still reading it over again. I would recommend this for ages 10 and up. For violence. And slightly corny vampires (hilarious as they were)
Great story, adventuring with a young lady as she grips with coming to age, ascending the throne, and defending her land under siege. I enjoy reading it over and over.
This would be a proper book for adolescents, not so much for an adult. It's rather juvenile.
My granddaughter loved the book
I did not read it
