The problems that face Dughall after he killed his birth father, the Earl of Huntly, in a sword fight, his grandfather, the Duke of Seaford, dies just blew me away. How a 17 year old boy lives through the torturous beatings of his birth father to become the name he is amazed me. His love for Keira blossoms into a love for all age and the marriage to her warmed my heart. After claiming the Sword of Conan, how he became tortured by its evil, his fight to live though cursed with the help of so many was heart warming. And what he and Keira went through to have their son, WOW. This trilogy had me from the beginning and when I finished the Last book, I wanted more. I hope all enjoy the books as much as I did.Product details

A bit slow. Not a page turner. But, I'll pick it up every so often and I will finish it eventually.
Love it. I will read it over and over again.
Excellent books if you love historical novels. All 3 kept my imagination on overdrive.
Thank you for the great stories of the people and places and the history of long ago. You have captured my thoughts (daily) and I appreciate the journey you have laid out.
This was a very well written novel in a series of three. It was historically accurate, the characters were likable and believable. It will appeal to anyone who is interested in or curious about this historical period, how some people lived and how their circumstances impact on today.
I gave it five stars for its historical accuracy intermingled with fictional characters to flesh out the story which is engrossing. I am to begin reading the third novel with much anticipation. Though I know what the historical outcome will be, the ongoing saga of the Dark Lord holds my attention.
I had hopes for this book since so many of the reviews compared it to Outlander. I was very disappointed. The writing wasn't horrible and the various publishing errors are typical of what you see today. This book has so many opportunities to be a great book but did not take the opportunities. I purchased the other two but decided I couldn't work through reading another one of these.
