Perhaps I shouldn't have started this since it's about two people who lost their spouses and then find each other, and I'm not there in life. But I did start it and was a bit frustrated with the set- up. Supposedly they're going to get together on the other side of the world and remember how they were in love with each other in Jr. High (?) and they actually never even talked to each other back then. If she was the girl in his heart you'd think he would have attempted a conversation with her at some point over the early years. She remembers how she felt when he read a poem in class while looking at her, yet she never bothered to find out his last name. I can't even remember the names of friends I did talk to every day in school, so I don't know why they are remembering each other. It's too unlikely a story for me. This is probably a better story as you go along, but I have to set it aside for now.

Absolutely loved this book! It is a beautiful love story with deep emotions. It would make a awesome movie. I rank this author right up there with Nicholas Sparks. Did not want to put it down. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane of the 50's and 60's but I feel younger readers will love it too.

What a delightful and nostalgically satisfying novel - I went to San Marcos High School with Thomas (Tommy) Allen so many of our memories coincide of the wonderful time growing up there and the familiar places and times. I will look forward to your next one, Tommy!!
This is a enjoyable read with a little humor and a little sorrow. The themes center around living true to yourself and letting people know how you feel about them. The first half of the book is about coming of age in a small central texas town in the late fifties. Since that was me, it made it even more fun.
I loved this book. It was an easy read, the words just flowing from one chapter to the next. I'm an avid reader when I have the time and finished this book in one weekend. I found the book very entertaining, just what I needed to unwind a hectic week. It was easy to visualize the narrative and I laughed or cried many times. My husband is also reading this book and has enjoyed it as much as I.
Allen accomplishes what every good writer hopes to accomplish he tells an appealing story with universal themes built around compelling, dynamic characters. This novel is not just for retirees, Texans, or romance aficionados; this novel is for everyone. I was especially drawn to the realness of the characters. Allen clearly has a grasp on human psychology, and he demonstrates that as he develops characters who deal with pain, loss, and love in a way that any reader can personally recognize. Because Allen writes the characters right, I was experiencing all of life's questions and challenges along with his players. Even though much of the story unfolds in an era older than my own, my mind simply replaced the allusions to movies, music, and culture with appropriate counterparts from my own innocent and naïve years. Thanks to gifted storytelling, universal themes, and relatable characters, Jenny Kissed Me! transcends time and place and genre. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I found this story to be genuinely warm and moving. Sometimes we do the wrong things for what we think are the right reasons, but we come to find that we've missed finding what our hearts were telling us. I am so happy that Jenny and Jonathan finally found each other even though it took forty years. I imagine God's plan for them finally came to fruition. Thank for a lovely story!
